Sunstream Green Energy, a Lighthouse venture, is a new-age Independent Power Producer that builds, owns and operates renewable energy projects across India. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Mumbai, the company develops utility-scale solar, decentralised and distributed solar, commercial and industrial (C&I) projects, wind-solar hybrids, and round-the-clock and storage-backed power. Its work is built around the needs of DISCOMs, government utilities, and commercial and industrial buyers looking to cut energy costs and decarbonise with reliable, long-term clean power.
The Sunstream team, drawn from global finance, renewable energy and infrastructure, has been commissioning and operating projects since 2022, with around 230 MW operational across more than 20 sites and an 850 MW+ portfolio in development and execution. Its projects serve high-credit utility (state DISCOM) and commercial & industrial customers across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, under long-term power purchase agreements of up to 25 years. From origination, land and grid connectivity through financing, EPC and long-term operations, the company runs the full project lifecycle in-house — typically taking a site from award to commissioning in about 12 months, well ahead of the industry norm. Backed by Lighthouse Trust, Sunstream is working towards 1 GW of operating capacity by 2028 as it helps drive India's transition to clean power.
